Coffee or Tea?

Hi Everyone!
I hope you are having a lovely Sunday. I am sitting here with Charlie snuggled up on my lap, reading blogs and sipping a delicious cup of coffee.

I really love coffee. I love it strong, hot and with cream and sugar...well Splenda these days. I love coffee flavor too, coffee candy, mocha frosting...I add coffee to most chocolate things I bake. A splash of coffee in chocolate frosting is fabulous!

I have been drinking coffee since I was a small child. Some of my best memories are of waking up to a cup of coffee with my dad. He would make me coffee and toast for breakfast every school day. I would sit in the living room watching TV with my breakfast and he would go back to the kitchen. I have vivid memories of him sitting at the kitchen table, reading a book or the newspaper while he had his coffee. The bedtime image is of him sitting in the same chair eating cookies and milk. I really miss him.

My brother and I had coffee in our lunchtime thermos's at school. He actually had his teacher ask for some when the teacher's lounge was out...she always knew he had coffee. It wasn't everyday, just a special treat on cold days.

Now this love of coffee has brought me to today's dilemma. Hubby and I have been drinking Starbucks Yukon blend for years. We grind the beans ourselves and I eagerly anticipate the first cup as soon as it finishes dripping. Yummy! Unfortunately, Starbucks has decided to phase out out beloved Yukon! The horror!! Hubby and I bought up as much as we could but the time has come, we are on the last pound of beans and must choose something else soon.

So...now for the reader question...what kind of coffee do you drink?

We want something tasty and delicious but not as expensive as Starbucks. We have decided that this would be a good time to try some other brands, blends. We have been drinking the Yukon for so long, we don't really know what else is out there. Do you drink coffee? or tea? What's your preference?

Today's Etsy shop is My Hand Bound Books. These books are beautiful. They remind me of Melissa's journals over at Life is Art...Art is Life. Melissa and her sister Melanie have made some fabulous journals in lovely fabrics. This one really made me think of Melissa's latest journal with the pencil binding. Look how pretty those chopsticks are, you get both books for only $14.00.

I really like this book...I love the color and suede looks so soft. I also loved a gray suede journal with pink pages. I really like that color combination.

Have a wonderful day! Talk to you tomorrow!

Hugs,

Puglette

  1. Peet's coffee is pretty good. You can buy it online and in some specialty stores. Green Mountain coffee is not bad either & a little less expensive. Seattle's Best can be found at most grocery stores & has a good flavor.

  5. Mmm...I love coffee! But I'm a total wuss when it comes to strength...I buy the "8'Clock" coffee at the super market and grind my beans. You're going to laugh, but I buy the french vanilla flavor!

  8. Jerry bought the paper yesterday to read about the US election, but we didn't get around to reading it until bedtime... and on the back page there was a coupon for a free Starbucks red cup coffee. I was very sad to have missed out !
