Today's Etsy store is Tidbits and Bits. This shop has some cute fiber art items for sale. There is even a felted kitty bed...or maybe a small pug.

Sorry, just a short post tonight. I got laid off today. I have worked in this mortgage company for seven and a half years. I am sad and crabby. Tomorrow will be a better day.

Body Parts!

Hi Everyone,

I have been working on an elephant doll for our niece, Abby. It's got a lot of parts...I still have one more leg to finish and then on to the body! I just love the little curled up trunk.

Here's a cute picture of Abby from our family vacation this past summer. What a little sweetie! Her parents organized the trip to Seaside, Oregon. Seaside is a cute little tourist town on the northern coast of Oregon. We all stayed in a big house a block from the beach. We had a big bonfire on the beach on the Fourth of July and watched the town fireworks display. What fun!!

I should explain why Abby is so messy...she had been given a candy necklace and was having fun trying to eat it. She had dinner right after getting the necklace good and wet. She's a peach!

I know we all have pug items in our homes, here is our most recent acquisition. Pug salt and pepper shakers! They have little magnets in their noses so they kiss. They are just decorative, we have them on display.

Today's Etsy store is String Me Along. Lovely jewelry, all hand made. These are sweet earrings, you can wear them three different ways. All together, just the flowers or just the coppery pendants. Multi taskers!

These bracelets are so pretty. I really like the colors, I love blue and green. That cloud bead on the blue and white bracelet reminds me of the delftware colors and patterns of Scandinavian ceramics.

Well, this was fun! Let's do it again tomorrow!

Gotcha Charlie!

Hi Everyone!

I forgot to post about Charlie's "Gotcha Day"! What a bad puggy mom!

We picked up our little Charlie girl on October 26, 2007. She was so cute! We immediately went to a family birthday party. She was so good, there were a lot of people at the party and Charlie just ran around and visited everyone. Of course, she was the hit of the party!

After we lost our little Daisy, we had a huge hole in our hearts. A pug shaped hole. We now knew more about pugs and their health issues and started to look for a breeder. We investigated, learned and looked at everything pug. We talked to people that would only show us their puppies in parking lots...not a good idea. We saw some cute babies but decided to go to a reputable breeder and hopefully we could bring home a healthy happy pug puppy.

We eventually found the breeder we purchased Charlie from. Sulen's Precious Pugs in Olympia, WA is a great breeder. Suzanne is nice, knowledgeable, and open to visitors. We visited her in her home and met with her and her family of pugs, all seven of them! For a house with all those pugs and a cat, two doberman pincers, four sons and her mother, the house was clean and tidy. She knew all about pugs and breeding dogs. We had found a list of good breeder habits and she met every item on the list.

Suzanne did not have any litters due with her puggys but she had first pick from a litter fathered by one of her dogs. We decided to take her first pick and we put our money down on a baby, sight unseen! We did not have to wait for long, the family that had the puppies did not want to keep them until they were 12 weeks old and shipped our puppy to Suzanne at nine weeks. We were so excited because we got to visit with our new puppy!!



Wasn't she just the cutest little baby!? We fell in love the first time we saw this fat little baby. She was so cute, fat and roly poly. It was so difficult to wait three more weeks before we could take our puppy home. We visited every few days and got to know our baby. Suzanne was kind enough to let us bring family over to see the puppy. On one of these visits we brought Dear Daughter and talked about names. We wanted something different but cute. Daughter and Hubby talked about a name for a black dog...they came up with Char. I didn't really like Char but came up with Charlie. That was it! She had a name, Charlie!! Her official fancy dog name is Pennylane and Sulen's Olympic Char. Schmancy!

And now here we are, with a fancy puppy that is the light of our lives. She is so personable, has a perfect pug stance and is a little stinker! Charlie really thinks the world revolves around her and we have done nothing to change her perception. She makes everyone she meets happy.

Today's Etsy store is GMI Studio. There are some beautiful bags and hand made boxes for sale at GMI Studio. I love these two blue and brown bags!! The fabric is beautiful.

This cute pink box is so sweet, look at the cute birds on the inside.

I am off to finish cooking dinner! Pork chops, broccoli (I'll save you some Roxy!) and ugh rotten potatoes. Yummy!

Yeah! It's the Weekend!

Hi Everyone!

Phew! We made it to another weekend! It was a long week for me just because it has been so slow at work. But I was able to get the crocheted mushrooms finished for Joan at Peace Love and Pugs. You should check out Joan's blog, she has a photo of some cool jewelry made from zippers!

I have mentioned swaps before, I received one in today's mail. I was so excited when I opened this package. The swap was for a handmade mushroom. I received the coolest hand carved rubber stamps. It's a two piece mushroom! I think hand carved stamps are amazing, I would never be able to carve something and have it be recognizable. I have fairly shaky hands and I would just end up cutting myself. Hubby will not buy fancy knives for me, I have a tendency to chop my fingers. ;oP I did slice the edge of my fingertip off when I first got the knives I have in the kitchen.

Anyway...I also received the cutest little drawstring bag along with the rubber stamp. It is just the cutest bag! It is handmade and lined inside. I love it! It is just the perfect size to tuck in a small crochet project.

Swapping has been a lot of fun! I think the key is to send items that you would want and handmade items are the most fun to give and receive.

I also want to tell you about another Etsy shop. This is for the giveaway I have entered on Sweet Figments. Today's shop is the Garden Bath. This is a shop full of lovely, pampering, handmade skin and bath items. This lip butter sounds yummy! Mango Peach Sorbet! That's my favorite smoothie combination. $3.25 for a handmade lip balm! What a bargain!

There are gift sets too. Three items in your choice of fragrance. These are $25.00.

So, what are you doing this weekend? I have been drooling over the chicken soup Roxy's mom is making. She has been making homemade chicken stock! Yum!! I think some soup could be made in my house, but with store bought broth.

We had hoped to get to an agility trial this weekend. There is one south of Portland, OR. Hubby really wanted to go but due to budgetary constraints, we will be staying home. I picked up an old childrens play tunnel so we will be able to practice in the back yard.

I started making a crocheted elephant doll for my little niece Abby. I have just finished the trunk and half the head and it's looking cute already. I will of course, post photos of the finished doll.
