Hi everyone!
I don't know if you have seen it on the news in your area, but we are experiencing excessive amounts of rain. The rain is melting the huge piles of snow we received over the past few weeks. Western Washington is wet...soaked like a soggy sponge that cannot take in anymore moisture.
Hubby and I are fine in our home. We have a nice, new storm drain right in front of our house and we live uphill from our local lake. The lake is about two blocks away. The other towns in our area are not as lucky. The rivers are at or above their flood levels. The main north - south highway, Interstate 5, is closed for a twenty mile stretch about 30 miles south of us. Roads are closed all over the place as the creeks and rivers rise.
It's a real mess out there!
Please keep the wet Washingtonians in your thoughts.
In other news...well, not really news, just my daily trivia. I am starting to close loans again! The interest rates are really low, if you have been thinking about refinancing and have some equity in your home, now is a great time to take that jump. Interest rates are around 5 to 5.50%. That's pretty good! It's even making me consider refinancing, and I really hate doing my own loan! I realize that sounds silly, but we really had a tough time when we bought our current home and the scars remain.
Thank you all for the nice comments about the flying pug photo! :o) Charlie looks so funny in that photo, I love how her eyes are so wide open and her little ears are back, she looks so focused! Her grandma is signing her up for more agility trials at the end of the month. These are for fancy, registered AKC doggies. Grandma is trying to make a champion out of little Chucky...but Chucky is an obstinate little beasty.
I hope you are all well and happy. Thanks for being my internet pals!
Hugs,
puglette

We're sending drying vibes your way!

PS: Great agility pic for sure. There's nothing cuter than a high-speed pug, for some reason. ;)
Stay safe and dry. And thanks for the hint about refinancing...
ReplyDeleteI have seen that on the news! I am SO grateful to hear that you and hubby are doing okay, but I do feel for all the people who aren't as fortunate! Thinking of you all!
ReplyDeleteP.S. We love being your Internet buddies!! :)
I have heard about all the heavy rains in your area. Glad you are safe!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear this is happening in your area. I hope your neighbours stay safe and dry. I am glad you are back on track! good luck!
ReplyDeleteon a side note, my property lost so much value, I wont be able to refi... I rented it for the moment while I live in a smaller place. hubby is going to try to sell a property he owns with his mother. that is going to be tough, too.
Mom says she has seen that in the news and is very happy to hear that you are not going to get flooded out. We do feel for all the people who will be forced from there homes because of this.
