Hi everyone!

I am sure most of you have been to the Lolcats and Loldogs websites. I just love them! If you haven't seen these funny pictures yet, you really should check out these sites. They have cute pictures of animals and people have added humorous comments to the photos. I will warn you that you will need to learn Lolspeak, but it's pretty easy. Just use your phonics! Here's some of my favorites...mostly puggies of course!

I Was a Test Pilot!

Ok, Ok...

maybe not a test pilot, but I did get to be a test crocheter!

I got to test a crochet pattern for a fellow Ravlery member. I made a water bottle cozy out of cotton yarn. It was a very fun little project.

This cozy is for an aluminum water bottle, a reusable bottle. Hubby and I have Sigg water bottles and we really like them. They keep your water or drink nice and fresh and there are no chemicals leaching into the water from the plastic. The problem with the aluminum bottles is they can be dented easily and they build up quite a bit of condensation on the outside. This pattern remedies those problems!

The cozy absorbs the condensation and gives a little cushion so a small bonk on the bottle will (hopefully) not dent. The cute little strap helps keep track of the cap too! Bonus!

I think this is a cute little cozy and I can imagine how cute it would be with a fancy little button or some embroidered flowers or a cute design. Hubby didn't think it was manly enough for him so I will have to make another for his bottle. He wants something a little more rubbery or clingy as the cotton yarn slips off easily.

I want to give a big thanks to Jeannie from Ravelry for letting me be one of her three testers. It was really fun knowing I was one of only a few people to try a pattern that will be published!

If you haven't heard about Ravelry yet, let me tell you that it is a fabulous place for knitters and crocheters. Ravelry is a community of crafty folks who love to work with yarn. There is a huge database of patterns, yarn and helpful tips. Plus the best part is all the wonderful people. Ravelry has a membership of over 250,000. That's a lot of brains to pick and a lot of shared information! I love it! If you love to knit or crochet you should join Ravelry. You need to request an invitation and it takes about a week to get, but it is well worth the wait in my humble opinion.

The doggies send out their warmest greetings to you all. Honey really wants to thank you all for the nice birthday comments, they were very sweet. We are getting Charlie ready for more agility trials. She went to Grandma's yesterday to practice and was a bit stubborn and did not listen very well. Grandma has her signed up for a bunch of trials in the next few months so she will be practicing her listening skills. ;o)

We are hoping for some sunny weather this coming weekend so hopefully we will get to the dog park. If we do, we will get some new puppy pics.

Happy Birthday Honey!

Happy Birthday Honey Puppy!!

We Love You!

Hi everyone!

Today is Honey Puppy's 10th Birthday! She is just the sweetest dog and we have just adored having her in our lives.

Hubby and I got Honey on February 28th, 1999. She was the tiniest little baby. The baby pictures were all pre-digital camera so we only have computer photos from the last few years...with one special exception!

This picture was taken in July 1999 while we were visiting Cannon Beach, Oregon.

Honey is a corgi pomeranian mix. She has the pomeranian's little skinny legs and tiny feet. She has a smaller corgi face and her ears are just the cutest ever. Her ears have little tufts of fur that stick up. A groomer put little tiny bows on those little tufts once, it was so adorable! and it lasted about two minutes. She has the big barrel chest of the corgi and the narrow waist of the pomeranian...she is a funny little mix.

I have a special connection with Honey. She is my doggie, and I really love her. We have a bond. She is a crabby old lady these days and I can totally empathize with her aches and pains of getting older. We got Honey to keep me company when Hubby had to work nights. We had two big dogs that were outside, but I wanted a puppy to cuddle. She was less than two pounds when we brought her home. We named her Honey because she had the prettiest honey colored coat. She was so tiny that hubby could tuck her into his shirt pocket. She would run so fast and just tip over because her head and chest were heavier than her bottom half.

She is a great travel companion. She has been on many road trips and stayed in many hotel rooms. She has gone camping and fishing. She is a wonderful friend.

I love her so much. Happy Birthday, my little princess!!!

Hello from Water World!

Hi everyone!

I don't know if you have seen it on the news in your area, but we are experiencing excessive amounts of rain. The rain is melting the huge piles of snow we received over the past few weeks. Western Washington is wet...soaked like a soggy sponge that cannot take in anymore moisture.

Hubby and I are fine in our home. We have a nice, new storm drain right in front of our house and we live uphill from our local lake. The lake is about two blocks away. The other towns in our area are not as lucky. The rivers are at or above their flood levels. The main north - south highway, Interstate 5, is closed for a twenty mile stretch about 30 miles south of us. Roads are closed all over the place as the creeks and rivers rise.

It's a real mess out there!

Please keep the wet Washingtonians in your thoughts.

In other news...well, not really news, just my daily trivia. I am starting to close loans again! The interest rates are really low, if you have been thinking about refinancing and have some equity in your home, now is a great time to take that jump. Interest rates are around 5 to 5.50%. That's pretty good! It's even making me consider refinancing, and I really hate doing my own loan! I realize that sounds silly, but we really had a tough time when we bought our current home and the scars remain.

Thank you all for the nice comments about the flying pug photo! :o) Charlie looks so funny in that photo, I love how her eyes are so wide open and her little ears are back, she looks so focused! Her grandma is signing her up for more agility trials at the end of the month. These are for fancy, registered AKC doggies. Grandma is trying to make a champion out of little Chucky...but Chucky is an obstinate little beasty.
